Hiatus and Restart2009-10-22
I know I'm about to screw over any readers I've built since the start of this site, but, well, here goes: I am restarting this webcomic. After going back and forth on this issue for about a week, I now feel this will be best in the long term. I am unhappy about too many things to warrant gradually going back and fixing past strips. The comic will undergo a complete stylistic change. I will cut the number of pages from chapter one and two so that the process of speeding up to where we currently are can happen faster.
I also foolishly believed that I could create strips twice a week, maintain this site, go to work, go to my senior-level college classes, and complete homework, projects, and papers, all at once. So, the comic will return mid-December. (I was going to make the hiatus last until June, when I have finished school completely, but a friend of mine convinced me to cut that timespan).
Is a month and a half really that bad? I suppose it depends on who you are. Many of you will choose to no longer read the comic, and I understand completely. For those who would stay: the new comics, while maintaining the same plot, will not resemble the old ones. So it is new stuff you'll be able to look at...except you will know what happens, I suppose.
Meanwhile, throughout my hiatus, I will be creating new strips. Therefore, when the switch is made, we will not solely be at square one. Again, I realize this is one of the worst things a webcomic creator can do. But, it will be good in the long term--I can promise you that. In the meantime, I will leave these strips up. I know that many of you will understand.
I will see you in December. Let's make it...the 14th. Oh, and I'll keep posting whatever strips I have left (there is three I can still post, I think).
Site Upgrade: Successful2009-10-03
Just finished with upgrading the site and changing one or two things around. The navbar images, for instance, should no longer be a weird gray color when their alt text appear instead. The RSS feed will look a little different, too. As promised, I will now work on the new feature that could only come post-upgrade. Look for that within the next week.
Chapter 2 Discussion2009-09-27
I've decided to make use of the discussion forum I have over at DA by creating a new thread for Chapter 2 Discussion. Please feel free to give input or ask me questions. I want to try and get involved with my readers as best as I can. Remember, though, you must have a DA account in order to participate.
Site Upgrade: Coming Soon2009-09-21
I've recently learned that there is a new version available for the CMS the comic uses. I soon plan to have the site undergo the upgrade process--probably during a very late time in the night to ensure the best outcome I can hope for.
I don't know when exactly I will do this, because I am primarily waiting to learn about possible bugs that inevitably appear. Once the comic is upgraded, however, I will soon create a new feature that was previously not possible. Further details will be given later. I should also note that only the comic pages will be affected by this upgrade.
